Skype in for VoiceField

April 3rd, 2009

I set up Skype to direct calls into the VoiceField system:

Now anyone with Skype installed on their computer can look for ‘voicefield‘ in the global directory, call it, and share the experience! Local call surcharges may apply…

VoiceField Public Phones

March 26th, 2009

Went into the West Village this evening and made a call from a payphone in the White Horse Tavern.

It’s now a registered VoiceField Public Phone, meaning, all calls from this phone, which is nestled in the northeast corner of the bar, will be recorded to the same account. So there will be a channel, so to speak, of messages from this shared line. All voices of the same pub.
There will be, of course, other phones to follow…

VoiceField Feature: Subscribe

March 25th, 2009

Testing new Subscription feature:

Now, users can subscribe to any caller they want to follow, and receive notification with link to the new message, every time the caller creates a new entry.

St. Marks St.Onehenge

March 13th, 2009

Another little experiment done in the house; continuing to fool with VoiceField functionality — there was some temperamental behavior as I called in to the system.

I created the following message on the 10th of March, knowing it would become relevant on the 12th:

Here’s the mark and caption I made on the my bathroom wall during the original occurence on March 12, 2008:
Cave Drawing

Anticipating the recurrence one-year-to-the-day-later, I invited a few pals over to drink a beer and observe. Pretty enchanting. I’m amazed it worked; then again why shouldn’t it have?

At 6:18, little later than I expected, the pencil of light was aligned with my marks on the wall. It was brilliant, but quite fleeting. The cloud cover had become intrusive and the rays were somewhat diffused. Still, very much on target.

Ultimately, we agreed: the sun had set. I was, however, slightly concerned that the VoiceField lines were busy at first, which seems to have been a technical problem. I need to contact our VoIP provider.

Then we went out for pizza.

Iceconic

March 10th, 2009

VoiceField in development.  Here’s a first attempt at embedding a message in a blog, and connecting it with a greater context:

A still image and a recorded voice.  These were created last week behind my house, when it was so cold.

Three of the four cones I inverted and topped with water in attempt to make ice cones.

I checked on the progress the following day:

Nice results later that evening; but the next day was, like, 50 degrees, so it was ultimately a bust.
But this new voice-blog integration is good.
